Hayley Williams undercut

I’ve added a new hair page for Hayley Williams’ undercut.

You will notice that this page and the other hair pages are now on my other site stealherstyle.net. I am going to be making Hayley Fashion a part of Steal Her Style, though I am moving content over gradually. I will be posting smaller updates and things like new photos and cool gifs on the Hayley Fashion tumblr and major stuff on Steal Her Style. Please make you to follow the tumblr if you aren’t already!

Hayley Williams Shows Off Her Undercut

Hayley Williams undercut Hayley Williams shaved head sidecut Hayley Williams shaved hairstyle

Hayley Williams shaved the hair on the right side of her head! She did it just over a week ago, and it was noticed by some fans who attended New Found Glory’s show on October 29th, but these are the first pictures to surface. Unfortunately they are black and white so I don’t know about the color yet. This hairstyle is known as an undercut or sometimes a sidecut.

I’m not exactly a fan of how it looks in a ponytail, but I’ll reserve judgement until I see it with her hair down and parted to the side. It’s not the worst thing she’s done, I’ll save that dubious honor for the thankfully short-lived red and purple combo she sported back in 2008.

Summer Festival Style Essentials

Since Paramore are playing a string of festivals right now, it seems like a great time to post Hayley Williams’ summer festival fashion and beauty essentials, which she shared with Stylelist.

Jane Iredale Tinted Moisturizer & SPF 15 in Ivory ($36.00). “I wear this stuff year round. It evens out my skin tone, moisturizes, and it smells like roses.”

Likewise Facial Moisturizer and SPF ($34.99). “Just recently picked this stuff up and I love it so far! It’s got zinc and soy in it and it’s super mattifying… Which is great cause I’ll be sweaty. Very sweaty.”

American Apparel Baby Rib Crop T ($20.00). “So excited about these! I only bought them in white so I can customize easily with a black sharpie. I don’t typically show much skin… Even in the summer… But now I can wear these and pretend to be Jennifer Love Hewitt from “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”

“Bleached/re-dyed/customized denim like my Lazy Bones custom overall shorts by Audrey Kitching. Best part about this is you can do it yourself! Go get some old denim shorts, bleach em, dye em however you’d like and even add studs. D.I.Y. life!”

Maybelline’s Blackest Black Waterproof Mascara ($4.24). “You know, the pink tube with the green top. I wear it in my eyebrows cause I like having those black Madonna brows! But if you wanna be traditional and wear it on your lashes, there’s nothing better. Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics.”
(note: it does not seem that the waterproof formula is available in Blackest Black. If you want waterproof, you can go for for the Very Black color)

Hayley Williams’ Beauty Tips and Tricks

SELF magazine has compiled some beauty tips from Hayley along with advice from experts. They’ve listed a bunch of products that Hayley uses and included a few of their own recommendations based on her tips.

Do-No-Wrong Beauty
“I like nails that are loud and vibrant.”
Nails can be an accessory you have fun with. “My mom couldn’t get me out of the house unless I got to wear two different-colored socks,” Williams remembers. “I think of nails the same way.”
Your Mix-’n'-Match Mani Plan
Consider your coloring. Even out-there shades should be flattering. Orange, neon pink and red enhance warm skin tones; purple, mauve or yellow work with cool, says Roxanne Valinoti, a lead nail stylist in NYC for CND. To tell, look at your veins: Greenish equals warm; blue, cool.
Give a twist to a classic. One idea is to do a French mani with a neutral base but a bold tip—pale pink with orange, pink or blue—so you get the best of both worlds.

Hayley’s Favorite Nail Colors
Williams stocks up on completely vegan Nubar Nail Lacquer, $7, especially sparkly greens such as Greener.
“I love yellow on my nails,” she says. “It complements my pale skin.” Try OPI Nail Lacquer in Need Sunglasses?, $9.
“I’m really into sea-foam green—’70s bathroom style.” We like OPI Nail Lacquer in Go on Green!, $9.

Listen-to-Me Lips
“I pick my lipstick by my mood.”
Quick Tips for Bold Lips
Play with intensity. Coral, fuchsia and red can go all-out bright or more mellow. For the latter, use a stain, not a stick—the no-wax pigment lets your natural lip color show through. Up the vibrancy by applying lipstick in the same shade on top, says Joanna Schlip, a celebrity makeup artist for Physicians Formula.
Keep the rest of your makeup natural. To make sure you don’t overdo blush, apply lipstick first. Then you can gauge exactly how much more color, if any, your face needs.

Hayley’s Favorite Lipsticks
A matte true red that doesn’t sacrifice shine, MAC lipstick in Russian Red, $15, is one of her staples.
Williams loves MAC lipstick in Fusion Pink, $15. “It’s a rad color for people who like lipsticks that pop,” she says.
During her Warped Tour last summer, the singer wore the rich purple-pink Urban Decay Lip Envy stain in Greedy, $17.

Can’t Look Away Eyes
“A cat eye is my go-to. It’s so easy!”
Lightning-Fast Liner Tricks
Create a straight line every time. Cast your gaze down and trace along your lashes (pulling lids can make an uneven line), and then slightly past the outer corner to get the little wing, Schlip says. Stick to Sharpie-like tips or gels, which draw smoothly.
Don’t be afraid to go beyond basic black. “Color is more daytime-friendly than you think, since you use such a thin line,” Schlip notes. Baby-step into color with dark versions—forest green, navy or plum—of brights you like.

Hayley’s Cat-Eye Staples
“It’s like using a marker on your eyes,” says Williams. MAC Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapidblack, $18.
Williams wants eye makeup to last through sets—she prefers sweatproof formulas such as Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Navy Blue, $22.
“It stays on forever—and I love browns and golds,” she says of Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Liners in Busy Signal, $19.

Amazingly Real Skin
“I love skin to have a no-makeup look.”
It’s hard not to be envious of Williams’s seemingly poreless complexion. But even if you need a little more coverage, you can get a flawless complexion without caking it on.
Natural-Skin Secrets
Cover up sparingly. Women use more foundation than they need, Schlip explains. Not every inch of skin requires makeup! Conceal pesky spots only: dark circles, blemishes and redness.
Put skin in the spotlight. Rub a pinky-peach cream highlighter on cheekbones to give radiance to mostly bare skin. “It makes it look lit from within,” Schlip says.

Hayley’s Favorite Skin Products
“I wear this every day!” she says of Benefit Benetint lip and cheek stain, $28.
For light coverage plus sun protection, Williams swears by Tarte Smooth Operator Natural Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, $36.
Williams protects her skin with Peter Thomas Roth SPF 45 mineral powder, $30

Radiant Hair Color
“The healthier my hair, the better it looks.”
Smart Shine Savers
Shield your hair. The sun is a dye job’s biggest shine stealer. UV rays oxidize pigment and quickly make color dull and brassy, says Marie Robinson, owner of Marie Robinson salon in NYC. Spray on leave-in conditioner with UV blockers to lock in color.
Get a trim before a touch-up. Because ends are older than the hair near your roots, they’re also the most damaged and dull. Cutting off that bottom inch can make your hair look like you just got it dyed, Robinson says.

Hayley’s Favorite Hair Helpers
Her healthy-hair secret: Moroccanoil Oil Treatment, $32. “I put it in my hair, and then let it air-dry.”
Williams’s ponytail must: rainbow-colored Emi-Jay hair ties, $11 for five. “They don’t break my hair.”

Bright Yellow Roots

Hayley Williams hair June 2011Hayley has finally fixed up her hair! Hayley often dyes her hair a red-orange shade and she has used yellow as an accent color a few times before, so this color combo is not at all surprising, but the placement of the yellow highlight is very interesting and unusual. Hayley dyed a bright yellow color only on her roots.

Perhaps she bleached her roots intending to dye them red but liked the way they looked lighter? Or maybe this is some new trend that I’m not aware of? I’m curious to see how long this style lasts given that her purple wash only lasted a few weeks. This seems like it would be a very hard style to maintain since Hayley’s brownish roots will look really obvious next to the bright yellow when they start to grow in.

Hayley to try a new hair color?

Hayley’s had her hair the same color since November, and it seems like she’s getting anxious to try something new! In two different interviews at ELLE’s Women In Music event, Hayley spoke about her love for dyeing her hair and her future plans. She told People “I want to try every color,” though she added “I always go back to red because this just feels like me.” The list of colors that Hayley has already tried is getting pretty exhaustive – she’s done orange, yellow, blonde, pink, purple, and even a bit of blue. It seems all she has left to try is green, though Hayley would also like to give blue another shot. She told InStyle “I’ve done blue on my bangs, but I’d love to do it everywhere”

Hayley also told InStyle that she would love to develop a hair dye line of her own someday. She says: “I really want to make hair dye eventually because I really want to make stuff that’s not super expensive, where you don’t have to have a license for it, but it won’t kill your hair.” Hayley mostly uses salon dyes herself – including Pravana, Redken, and Inkworks by Paul Mitchell – but she still occasionally dyes her own hair. She told People “If I’m feeling it and I want to do it now, I just go get a box at Walmart!”

Get Hayley’s Cosmo Makeup Look

Hayley Williams in Cosmo

As part of Hayley Williams’ Cosmopolitan magazine spread, there is a blurb on how to recreate her makeup look. They say: “Line eyes with copper shadow, then smudge so it doesn’t look perfect. Place a shimmery eggshell shadow on inner corners, and coat lashes with volumizing mascara. Next, dust cheeks with pale pink blush and swipe a rosy gloss onto lips; blot to take down the shine (a semimatte finish is less girlie-girl). The finishing touch: two coats of shimmery nude nail polish.”

The products shown are all Maybelline, which can be bought at most drugstores and grocery stores as well as superstores like Target and Walmart.

Hayley’s New Hair

Sorry that posts have been so infrequent recently, it just seems that we haven’t seen or heard much from Paramore in a while. But the band came out of hiding today for a live Ustream chat where they spoke to fans and rehearsed for the upcoming South American tour. Hayley showed off a fresh dye job – it’s an orangey-red with the same color on her bangs but a bright yellow underneath.

Recent Makeup Looks

Love it or hate it, we’ve all seen Hayley’s outrageous silver make-up at the EMAs, but what else has Hayley worn with her pink hair? Hayley shared yet another photo of her makeup kit along with the picture on the left of green and gray eyeshadow with winged eyeliner done with MAC makeup. The green looks like it might be the “Swimming” eye shadow shade. At the first show of this tour in Dublin, Hayley wore an intense bright blue eyeshadow – either Sugarpill’s Afterparty Pressed Eyeshadow or MAC’s “Electric Eel,” a shade which we’ve spotted in a previous makeup kit photo. It looks like she’s also wearing pink blush, though perhaps she’s just flushed. In Nottingham, Hayley went for a fresh-faced look, wearing only eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick.

Pink Hair

It looks like Hayley has dyed her hair pink, though all we have so far a few small pictures. I figured that she dyed it for Halloween like her blue bangs last year, but actually Hayley wore a wig with her costume, so I’m not quite sure what the story is.
