Hayley got her septum piercing done at the Milwaukee, WI date of the 2008 Warped Tour (June 30, 2008). Guitarist Taylor York got his nose pierced at the same time, you can watch a video of them getting their piercings on paramore.net. She kept the piercing in through the Final Riot tour that summer and the South American tour that fall, but then she stopped wearing it.
She got her ear lobes pierced in July 2009 while on tour with No Doubt. For the remainder of that tour she wore curved barbells that look like normal silver beads from the front, but hang in the back (photos 1 and 9). Since then she has worn a variety of stud earrings, pictured below.

I am a piercer myself.. and I know others who agree.. there is a ‘sweet spot’ in our noses that if you pierce it there is virtually no pain. Its a thin layer in between the cartlidge and bone area!

High pristess tattoo and piercing 4-ever!!!! and as a bonus, my cousin was working there and he gave a free discount and the top of my ear pierced, i will luv u 4-ever Joey!!!! I had to read this like 5 times before it made any sense, I thought she meant too thin and I couldn’t figure out why that would hurt. I think she means too small in diameter. when I was sorting through pictures for this page, I did see some pictures of her with a ring that was really small. Septum piercing hurt ridiculously for a about three seconds when you get them pierced, and then your nose is sore for a week to three after. About that, at least.

3 of my friends LOVE paramore like me, 3 of us (2 of them and me) went to the honda civic tour in 2010 and it was amazing!
When I asked one of my friends if he likes Paramore, he said “Well, their music is cool… and I don’t know about the rest of the band but the singer’s awesome I know that….”

Just go my septum done last weekend finally, procrastination was winning for a good year. It doesn’t hurt at all, unless you don’t have a ‘sweet spot’ -think layer of skin in your nose. Mines bled for a good 30 sec. but it was an ass to clean. I did it myself. Go these items: http://www.mspiercing.com/Product/PIERCING-NEEDLE-249.aspx and http://www.mspiercing.com/Product/septum-forceps-nose-piercing-tools-154.aspx. AND HEY I’M NOT ENCOURAGING I HOPE. I suggest you go to a professional if you don’t trust yourself, but i didn’t care. Mines ended up straight or at least it looks straight. Ohh and get a U-Shaped retainer if you wanna flip it right away dont get this http://www.mspiercing.com/Product/septum-nipple-retainer-1179.aspx It might look short but shit it’s long that you can’t flip it. Do what you feel safe with!
Oh and if you do, do it yourself, do your research. Watch videos to make you feel confident, cause once you pierce your septum (or whatever), theres no turning back, go all the way, gotta take the pinch. BE CONFIDENT! I totally sound encouraging, remember it’s your choice, do you really want it? or are you getting it because of Hayley or Scarlett Johansson (yeah she has/had a septum). Once you’ve done it, CONGRATZ! Your a step closer to a bigger EGO. Cleaning: if you want it to heal faster, use warm water. if you want it hella clean, but dry, use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, get yourself high! Septum piercings can affect singing so that is also a reason she could of had for taking it out.
Uhhh… no they don’t. I’m a singer, and they don’t effect singing at all. That is like saying Braces or Snake Bites effect singing. Peircings change nothing in the way you sing.

I LOVE the septum (except for the black captive bead ring). How easy is it to hide, cause I wanna get one but school might be all weird about it?
If you get a regular ring, (preferably taking the balls off the ends, and no captives, just horseshoes) it’s VERY easy to hide. You just need to flip it up. And no one will notive unless they’re lookin’ up your nose. I’ve had mine for a year, and my mom still doesn’t know about it.

don’t know about Ireland, but in Finland you can get septum pierced even when your 7 – with your parents of course! And I think it good that even if you’re under 16 you can get some piercings :)!
